If you got the Poison, then Baby I'm your Remedy...

My semester starts next next week so before it's back to the grind I'm trying to set up some good sketching/drawing habits so that I don't lose myself and makes sure I have time for everything I want to do... Basically the way I was thinking about it is if you only upload to your art blog once a month (or two as it seems I often slip...)than you're bound to be way more critical of your work and think retrospectively that it's all crap... but if you upload once a week then you can give an accurate picture of all you've done that week and if you get into the groove and make a habit of it then I believe it can become a good gauge for yourself of your progress on a weekly level and I believe it can really motivate and keep you pushing to work harder and more all the time... so if you survived that whole mess of an idea basically it sums down to deciding I'm going to have one day a week (to be decided next week after I figure out what day works best with my school & work schedule) that I update my sketches or work that week and this will help to keep up good drawing habits :)
So here you go heres some stuff from my winter break... (and sorry it's been a while)

Went sketching at the San Diego Zoo with my girlfriend :D

Sketching the aminals...

It's nice to go and not have to just focus on one animal...

Flying home for X-Mas

I also went to a Napoleon museum exhibit with my father, that was really kool!

Drawing during Midnight mass on Xmas ;)

Went camping with my girlfriend (the first of many to come...)

Quick sketches of friends...

What a lovey day...

The next few are from a tiny little sketchbook I got to fit in my back pocket...

Sometimes it's nice to play with what's in your head...

A man brought this GIANT dog into my work one day, he said it ate preschoolers haha

Waiting @ the Airport 'cellphone waiting lot'... seriously how'd we survie 10 years ago?

Sketching peeps @ this awesome Coffee/tea shop in Santa Rosa the other night...

I think I'm in love with Santa Rosa

A gift-art painting I did for my friend Hardcore Gerome through a gift exchange we had with a bunch of my artist friends... it's a Pikachu on Ebay :)

A long pose from a Figure Drawing marathon we had this week with the SHM Club... I'll post more excerpts from the event next week as its all stuck inside my locker at school and it'd be hard to get it here to scan with all the rain!

And lastly a self portrait (of sorts) that I did really to play around with a new set of watercolor pencils I just bought... it scares me. It's also too monochromatic! I swear next week I'll try to do another but with a lot more color involved :D

STAY DRY FOLKS!!
